They Cried Out All The More

I thought I would share a verse in Matthew that really sticks out to me. God really has been using His teachings and stories in Matthew to show and teach me new things. It has been very special so I thought I would share one passage with you that God spoke to me in.

"And as they went out of Jericho, a great crowd followed Him. And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, 'Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!" The crowd rebuked them, telling them  to be silent, but they cried all the more, 'Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!'
And stopping, Jesus called them and said, "What do you want Me to do for you?" They said to Him, "Lord, let our eyes be opened.' And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed Him." Matthew 20:29-34.

. So was there anything in this passage that stuck out to you? Amazingly enough, God spoke to me a lot through this passage. Something that struck out to me is that the blind men knew Jesus was capable of healing them. They knew He could heal them and called out to them. Another thing is that when they cried out for help the crowd rebuked them, BUT they didn't give up and cried out all the more! They could have given up when the crowd yelled at them. But they didn't stop, because they knew Jesus could heal and they weren't giving up and letting Him pass.

Now God spoke to me a lot in this passage. We are all like the blind men without Jesus. We can't see and are lost without Jesus. Now we should be like those two blind men and cry out to Jesus for Him to save us. And notice that the crowd rebuked them. The flow of the world silences us and tells us to be quiet and not cry out to Jesus and tells us to just go with the flow. Who cares if you want to be saved. Be like the crowd and go with the flow.

But what sticks out to me is that the two blind men did not give up and cried out to Jesus all the more. Wow. Quite the examples right there. That they chose to be persistent for Jesus and did not listen to the crowd who was trying to bring them down. Wow! All of us should be like that for Jesus! When the crowd tells us to give up, that should make us all the more bold for Jesus and should make us all the more determined to follow the Savior.

We all need to be more bold and confident to follow Jesus and ignore the flow of the world telling us to give up. For Jesus DOES hear us and want to have a relationship with us. He CAN save us and heal us...
